1 Now I have something to say to the elders in your group, for I’m also an elder, have seen Messiah’s sufferings, and will share in the esteem that will be shown to us. I beg you to 2 shepherd and take care of the flock of people you’re responsible for, and watch over them always, not because you’re forced to, but because you want to. For that is how YAHUSHA wants it. Do it because you’re happy to serve, not because you get paid to do it. 3 Don’t be like a harsh ruler over those you’re responsible for, but be good examples to them. 4 Then when Messiah the Chief-Shepherd comes, you will get a crown, one that will be shining and precious and never lose its beauty.
5 Young people, I have something to say to you too. You should accept the authority of the elders and have a humble attitude in dealing with each other. For YAHUAH is against the proud, but He is kind and gives favour to the humble. 6 So be humble under YAHUSHA’S powerful hand. Then he will lift you up when the right time comes. 7 Give all your worries to Him, because He cares for you.
8 Control yourselves, be awake, sober and careful! The Devil is your true enemy, and roams the earth like a roaring lion looking for someone to attack and devour. 9 Resist him and stand strong in your belief, knowing that your brothers and sisters all over the world are having the same sufferings and trials that you have. 10 Yes, you will suffer for a short time, but after that, YAHUSHA will make everything right, and you will be strong. He will support you and keep you from falling. He is the Living Alahim who gives all favour. He chose you to share in his esteem in YAHUSHA. That esteem will continue forever. 11 All power is his forever. Amein.
12 Silas will bring this letter to you. I know that he is a trustworthy brother in Messiah. I wrote this short letter to encourage you. I wanted to tell you that this is the true favour of YAHUSHA. So stand strong in that favour.13 All those chosen in Babylon sends you their greetings. They were chosen just as you were. Mark, my son in Messiah, also sends his greetings. 14 Greet one another with a set-apart kiss of love when you meet.
