In the same way, you wives should be submissive and willing to serve your own husbands. That way, even those husbands who are disobedient to YAHUSHA’S Word will be persuaded and won over by your blameless behaviour towards them. You won’t even need to say anything. 2 Your husbands will see the pure lives that you live with respect for YAHUSHA. 3 It’s not the styling of your hair, gold jewellery, or fashionable clothes that should make you beautiful. 4 No, your beauty should come from inside of you, from the hidden person of your heart, from the incorruptible beauty of a gentle, peaceful and quiet spirit. That kind of beauty (and feminine behaviour) is very precious to YAHUSHA.
It was the same with the chosen women who lived set-apart lives long ago, trusting Alahim. They made themselves beautiful in that same way by submitting to serve their own husbands. 6 I’m talking about women like Sarah. She obeyed Abraham, her husband, and called him her Master. And you women are true children of Sarah if you always do what’s right and aren’t afraid.
In the same way, you husbands should live with your wives in an understanding way, giving them all respect and honour as the weaker vessel, for YAHUSHA gives them the same blessings He gives you (and you are heirs together, given favour and true supernatural life). Do this so that nothing will stop your prayers from being heard.
Now to summarise - all of you should live together in peace and be of one mind! Try to understand and be compassionate to each other. Love each other like brothers and sisters. Be tender-hearted, kind and humble. 9 Don’t do wrong to anyone just to get them back for doing evil to you, and don’t insult anyone to pay them back for insulting you. But ask YAHUSHA to bless them. Do this because you yourselves were chosen to inherit a blessing.
The Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy true life and have only good days, then avoid saying anything hurtful, and never let a lie come out of your mouth. 11 Stop doing what is wrong, and behave good. Look for peace, and do all you can to help people live peacefully. 12 For the Master watches over those who do what is right, and He listens to their prayers. But He’s against those who do evil.”
If you are always trying to do good, no one can really harm you. 14 But you may suffer for having the right behaviour. If that happens, you have YAHUSHA’S blessing. “Don’t be afraid of the people who make you suffer and don’t be worried of their threats.” 15 But keep the Master YAHUSHA guarded and safe in your hearts. Always be ready to answer anyone who asks you to explain the hope and behaviour you have. 16 Gently answer them with respect. Keep your conscience clear. Then people will see the good way you live as followers of YAHUSHA, and those who say bad things about you will be ashamed of what they’ve said and done.
It is better to suffer for doing good than for doing wrong. Yes, it is better if that’s what YAHUSHA wants. 18 He Himself suffered when He died for you, and with that one death He paid for your sins. He was not guilty, but He died for guilty people, and He did this to bring all of you to Alahim. In His physical form, He was killed, but He was made alive by the Spirit.
And by the Spirit, He went and preached to the spirits in prison (A SUPERNATURAL JAIL CELL - NOT HELL - THAT DOESN'T EXIST!) 20 Those were the spirits who refused to obey YAHUAH long ago in the time of Noah. Alahim was waiting patiently for people while Noah was building the Ark. And only a few - eight in all - were delivered through water (of the global flood). 21 And that water was a type and shadow for baptism, which now delivers you. But this true baptism is not the washing of dirt and filth from the fleshly body (IT'S NOT A PHYSICAL BAPTISM OF WATER) but asking YAHUSHA for a clean conscience (A SPIRITUAL BAPTISM). This delivers you because YAHUSHA Messiah was resurrected from the dead. 22 Now He’s gone into the Heaven and sits in all of Alahim's authority as ruler over Angels, authorities, and powers.
