1 And the High Priest said, “Is this so?” 2 And Stephen replied, “Men, brothers and fathers, listen: The Alahim of esteem appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Aram Naharayim, before he dwelt in Haran, 3and said to him, ‘Come out of your land and from your relatives, and come here, into a land that I will show you.’
4 So Abraham came out of the land of the Kaldeans and dwelt in Haran. And from there (after the death of his father) YAHUAH brought him to this land, which you now live in. 5And He gave him no inheritance in it, not a foot of it, but He promised to give it to him in the future, to his seed after him, even though as yet, he had no child.
6 And YAHUAH spoke in this way: that Abraham's seed would be traveling in a foreign land, and that they would be enslaved and mistreated 400 years. 7‘And the nation to whom they will be enslaved, I shall judge,’ said YAHUAH, ‘and after that they will come out and serve Me in this place.’ 8 And YAHUAH gave Abraham the Blood-Covenant of circumcision. And he brought forth Isaac and circumcised him on the 8th day. And Isaac had Jacob, who brought forth the 12 Tribes of Yisharal. 9 And our ancestors, becoming jealous, sold their brother Joseph into Egypt. But YAHUAH was with him, 10 and delivered Joseph out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom before the Pharaoh, the King of Egypt, who appointed him governor over Egypt and over all his house.
11Then a scarcity of food and great distress came over all the land of Egypt and Canaan, and our fathers had no food. 12 But Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, and he sent out our fathers the first time, 13and at the second trip Joseph was made known to his brothers, and Joseph’s race became known to the Pharaoh.
14And Joseph sent and called his father Jacob and all his relatives to him: 75 people in all. 15And Jacob went down to Egypt, and died, he and our fathers, 16and they were brought over to Sheckem and laid in the tomb that Abraham bought for a price of silver from the sons of Hamor, father of Sheckem.
17But as the time of the promise drew near (which YAHUAH had sworn to Abraham), the people increased and multiplied in Egypt 18 until another King arose who did not know Joseph. 19Having dealt treacherously with our race, this Pharaoh abused our fathers, making them even expose their own babies, so that they would be murdered.
20 And at that time Moses was born, and he was well-pleasing to YAHUAH. And he was raised for 3 months in the house of his father. 21 But when he was exposed, the daughter of the Pharaoh took him up and raised him as her own son. 22 And Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and behaviour. 23 And when he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brothers, the children of Israel. 24 And seeing one of them being abused, he defended and revenged him who was cruelly oppressed, killing the Egyptian. 25 And he thought that his brothers would have understood that YAHUAH would give
deliverance to them by his hand, but they did not understand. 26 And the next day he appeared to two of them as they were fighting, and urged them to peace, saying, 'Guys, you are brothers, why do you abuse one another?' 27 But the one who was abusing his mate pushed Moses away, saying, 'Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? 28 Do you wish to kill me as you killed that Egyptian yesterday?'
29 And after this was thrown at him, Moses ran away and became a traveller in the land of Midian, where he fathered two sons. 30 And after 40 years were completed, YAHUAH appeared to Moses in a flame of fire in a bush, in the wilderness of Mount
Sinai. 31 And Moses, seeing it, marvelled at the sight, and coming near to see, the Voice of YAHUAH came to him, 32 saying, 'I am the Alahim of your fathers, the Alahim of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob.' And Moses trembled and didn't have the courage to look. 33 But YAHUAH said to him, 'Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is set-apart ground. 34 I have certainly seen the evil treatment of My people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning and have come down to deliver them. And now come, let Me send you back to Egypt.'
35 This Moses who they had refused, saying, 'Who made you a ruler and a judge?' - this is the man that YAHUAH sent to be a ruler and a deliverer by His hand after appearing to him in the bush. 36 This same man led them out, after he'd done great signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, and in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for 40 years. 37 This is the same Moses who said to the 12 Tribes, 'YAHUAH your Alahim will raise up a Prophet for you from among your brothers, just like me. And Him you will hear.' 38 This is the same man who was in the Fellowship in the wilderness, with YAHUAH who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, who received the Living Words to give to us, 39 to whom our fathers refused to be obedient, but thrust away, and in their hearts and behaviours they turned back to Egypt, 40 saying to Aaron, 'Make us special deities (idols) to go before us, for we don't know what's happened to this Moses guy who led us out of the land of Egypt.
41 And they made a calf in those days and brought an offering to the idol, and were rejoicing in the idols they'd made with their own hands. 42 So YAHUAH turned and allowed them to worship the host of the heaven (Satan), as it has been written in the book of the Prophets, 'Did you bring slaughtered beasts and offerings to Me during 40 years in the wilderness, O' house of Yisharal? 43 And you took up the tent of Moloch, (ABOMINABLE CHILD SACRIFICES AND PRACTICES) and the star of your deity Kiyyun, images which you made yourself to bow down to.
Therefore will remove you beyond Babel.' The Tent of Witness (TABERNACLE) was with our fathers in the wilderness, as He appointed, instructing Moses to make it exactly according to the pattern that he had seen, 45 which our fathers, having received these instructions, brought it with Joshua into the land possessed by the nations (CANAAN), who YAHUAH drove out before the face of our fathers until the days of David, 46 who found favour with YAHUAH and asked to find a Dwelling Place for the Alahim of Jacob, 47 but Solomon got to build Him a house.
48 However, the Most High does not live in dwellings made with hands, as the prophet says: 49 The Heaven is My Throne, and earth is My footrest. What House could you possibly build for Me? says YAHUAH, or where's the place for My rest? 50 Hasn't My hand made all these things?' 51 You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! (JUST LIKE THOSE DIRTY UNCIRCUMCISED GENTILE DOGS OUT IN THE WORLD - HE HURLS THE GREATEST INSULT AT THEM!) You always resist the Set-Apart Spirit just like your fathers did before you - YOU'RE EXACTLY THE SAME!! 52 Which prophet didn't your fathers persecute? And they killed those before who announced the coming of the Righteous One, the man you've now become the betrayers and murderers of. 53 You people who received the Torah as it was given by Angels, but did not watch over it or follow it."
54 And hearing this they were cut to their hearts and gnashed their teeth at Stephen. 5But he, being filled with YAHUSHA'S Spirit, looked steadily into the Heaven and saw the shining esteem of Alahim, and YAHUSHA standing in full authority as Alahim Himself, 56 and he said, "Look! I see the Heaven opened and the Son of Man standing in all authority as Alahim!"
57 And screaming with a loud voice, they plugged their ears, and rushed upon him with one mind, 58 and threw him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses
behind it all laid their garments down at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 And as they were hurling huge stones at Stephen, he was crying out, saying, "Master YAHUSHA, receive my Spirit." 60 And kneeling down he yelled with a loud voice, "Master, don't hold this sin against them." And having said this, he fell asleep. THERE'S AN INTERESTING REASON WHY THE TEXT SAYS THAT STEPHEN 'WENT TO SLEEP' AND DIDN'T JUST SAY 'DIE' (FOR IT IMPLIES A RESURRECTION).
