1 The Pharisees and Sadducees came to YAHUSHA, wanting to test Him. So they asked Him to show them a miracle as a sign from Alahim. 2 But YAHUSHA answered, “When you people see the sunset, you know what the weather will be. If the sky is red, you say we will have good weather. 3 And in the morning, if the sky is dark and red, you say that it will be a rainy day. These are signs of the weather. You see these signs in the sky and know what they mean. You know how to discern the face of the Heaven, but you are unable to discern the signs of the times happening right now! 4 Only a wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” Then YAHUSHA went away from there.
5 YAHUSHA and His followers went across the lake. But His Disciples forgot to bring bread. 6 YAHUSHA said to them, “Be careful! Guard yourselves against the yeast of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.” 7 His followers discussed the meaning of this, saying, “Did YAHUSHA say this because we forgot to bring bread?” 8 YAHUSHA knew that they were talking about this, so He asked them, “Why are you talking about not having bread? Your trust is so small. 9 Do you still not understand? Remember the five loaves of bread that fed the five thousand people and the many baskets you filled with the bread that was left? 10 And remember the seven loaves of bread that fed the four thousand people and the many baskets you filled that time? 11 So how could you think that I’m concerned about bread? I’m telling you to be careful and guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.” 12 Then His Disciples understood what YAHUSHA meant. He was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but to guard against the teaching of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.
13 YAHUSHA went to the area of Caesarea Philippi and said to His Disciples, “Who do people say I am?” 14 They answered, “Some people say You are John the Immerser. Others say You are Elijah. And some say You are Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 Then YAHUSHA said to His Disciples, “And who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living Alahim.” 17 YAHUSHA answered, “You are blessed, Simon son of Jonah, for no man has taught you that, but My Father in the Heaven has revealed to you who I am. 18 So I say that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My Assembly (YAHUSHA IS THE ROCK) and the power of death and destruction will not be able to overcome it. 19 And I will give you the Keys to Alahim's Kingdom. And whatever you forbid here on earth will be forbidden in the Heavens and whatever you permit here on earth shall be permitted in the Heavens.”
20 Then YAHUSHA warned His Disciples not to tell anyone He was the Messiah. 21 From that time YAHUSHA began telling His Disciples that He must go to Jerusalem. He explained that the Chief Priests, Scribes and Elders would make Him suffer many things. And He told them that He must be killed. Then, on the third day, He would be raised from death. (SIGN OF THE PROPHET JONAH). 22 Peter took YAHUSHA away from the others to talk to Him alone. Then he began to rebuke YAHUSHA, saying, “Don’t be so dramatic Master, lighten up, Alahim would never allow You to die!” 23 Then YAHUSHA said to Peter, “GET OUTTA HERE SATAN! FOR YOU’RE ONLY HERE TO TRIP ME UP WITH THOUGHTS THAT ARE NOTHING LIKE MY FATHER YAHUAH’S, BUT ONLY THOSE OF MERE MEN!”
24 Then YAHUSHA said to His Disciples, “If any of you want to be My Disciple, you must stop thinking about yourself and what you want. You must be willing to carry your torture stake and follow Me. 25 Anyone who tries to hold onto their own life will lose it. But anyone who gives up his life for Me will find true life. 26 It is worth nothing for you to have the whole world if you yourself are lost. You could never pay enough to buy back your life. 27 The Son of Man will come again with His Father’s esteem and with His Angels. And He will reward everyone for what they have done. 28 Believe Me when I tell you that there are some people standing here who will see the Son of Man coming with His Kingdom before they die.”
