YAHUSHA called His twelve Disciples together. He gave them power to heal sicknesses and power to force demons out of people. 2 He sent them to tell about the Kingdom of Heaven and to heal the sick. 3 He said to them, “When you travel, don’t take a walking stick. Also, don’t carry a bag, food, or money. Take for your trip only the clothes you are wearing. 4 When you go into a house, stay there until it is time to leave. 5 If the people in the town will not welcome you, go outside the town and shake the dust off your feet as a warning to them.” 6 So the Disciples went out. They traveled through all the towns. They told the Good News of Deliverance and healed people everywhere.
7 Herod the ruler heard about all these things that were happening. He was confused because some people said, “John the Immerser has risen from death.” 8 Others said, “Elijah has come to us.” And some others said, “One of the prophets from long ago has risen from death.” 9 Herod said, “I cut off John’s head. So who is this man I hear these things about?” Herod continued trying to see YAHUSHA.
10 When the Disciples came back, they told YAHUSHA what they had done on their trip. Then He took them away to a town called Bethsaida. There, He and His Followers could be alone together. 11 But the people learned where YAHUSHA went and followed Him. He welcomed them and talked with them about the Kingdom of Heaven. He healed the people who were sick. 12 Late in the afternoon, the twelve Disciples came to YAHUSHA and said, “No one lives in this place. Send the people away. They need to find food and places to sleep in the farms and towns around here.” 13 But YAHUSHA said to the Disciples, “You give them something to eat.”
They said, “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish. Do you want us to go buy food for all these people?” There are too many! 14 (There were about 5000 men there.) YAHUSHA said to His Disciples, “Tell the people to sit in groups of about 50 people.”
15 So the Disciples did this and everyone sat down. 16 Then YAHUSHA took the five loaves of bread and two fish. He looked up into the sky and thanked Alahim for the food. Then He broke it into pieces, which He gave to the Disciples to give to the people. 17 They all ate until they were full. And there was a lot of food left. Twelve baskets were filled with the pieces of food that were not eaten.
18 One time YAHUSHA was praying alone. His Disciples came together there, and He asked them, “Who do the people say I am?” 19 They answered, “Some people say You are John the Immerser. Others say You are Elijah. And some people say You are one of the prophets from long ago that has come back to life.” 20 Then YAHUSHA said to His Disciples, “And who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Messiah the Son of Alahim.”
21 YAHUSHA warned them not to tell anyone. 22 Then YAHUSHA said, “The Son of Man must suffer many things. He will be rejected by the older Jewish Leaders, the leading Priests, and Teachers of the Law. And He will be killed. But after three days He will be raised from the dead.”
23 YAHUSHA continued to say to all of them, “Any of you who want to be My follower must stop thinking about yourself and what you want. You must be willing to carry the torture stake that is given to you every day for following Me. 24 Any of you who try to save the life you have, will lose it. But you who give up your life for Me will save it. 25 It is worth nothing for you to have the whole world if you yourself are destroyed or lost. 26 Don’t be ashamed of Me and My teaching. If that happens, I will be ashamed of you when I come with My divine greatness and that of the Father and the Set-Apart Angels. 27 Believe Me when I say that some of you people standing here will see the Kingdom of Heaven before you die.”
28 About eight days after YAHUSHA said these things, He took Peter, John, and James and went up on a mountain to pray. 29 While YAHUSHA was praying, His face began to change. His clothes became shining white. 30 Then two men were there, talking with Him. They were Moses and Elijah. 31 They also looked bright and esteemed. They were talking with YAHUSHA about His death that would happen in Jerusalem. 32 Peter and the others were asleep. But they woke up and saw the esteem of YAHUSHA. They also saw the two men who were standing with him. 33 When Moses and Elijah were leaving, Peter said, “Master, it is good that we are here. We will put three tents here—one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” (He did not know what he was saying.)
34 While Peter was saying these things, a cloud came all around them. Peter, John, and James were afraid when the cloud covered them. 35 A voice came from the cloud and said, “This is My Son. He is the one I have chosen. Obey Him.” 36 When the voice stopped, only YAHUSHA was there. Peter, John, and James said nothing. And for a long time after that, they told no one about what they had seen.
37 The next day, YAHUSHA, Peter, John, and James came down from the mountain. A large group of people met YAHUSHA. 38 A man in the group shouted to Him, “Teacher, please come and look at my son. He is the only child I have. 39 An evil spirit comes into him, and then he shouts. He loses control of himself and foams at the mouth. The evil spirit continues to hurt him and almost never leaves him. 40 I begged Your followers to make the evil spirit leave my son, but they could not do it.”
41 YAHUSHA answered, “You people today have no belief. Your lives are all wrong. How long must I be with you and be patient with you?” Then YAHUSHA said to the man, “Bring your son here.” 42 While the boy was coming, the demon threw the boy to the ground. The boy lost control of himself. But YAHUSHA gave a strong command to the evil spirit. Then the boy was healed, and YAHUSHA gave him back to his father. 43 All the people were amazed at the great power of Alahim. The people were still amazed about all the things YAHUSHA did. He said to His followers, 44 “Don’t forget what I will tell you now: The Son of Man will soon be handed over to the control of other men.” 45 But the followers did not understand what He meant. The meaning was hidden from them so that they could not understand it. But they were afraid to ask YAHUSHA about what He said.
46 YAHUSHA’S Disciples began to have an argument about which one of them was the greatest. 47 YAHUSHA knew what they were thinking, so He took a little child and stood the child beside Him. 48 Then He said to the followers, “Whoever accepts a little child like this in My Name is accepting Me. And anyone who accepts Me is also accepting the One Who sent Me. The one among you who is the most humble—this is the one who is great.”
49 John answered, “Master, we saw someone using Your name to force demons out of people. We told him to stop because he does not belong to our group.” 50 YAHUSHA said to him, “Don’t stop him. Whoever is not against you is for you.”
51 The time was coming near when YAHUSHA would leave and go back to Heaven. He decided to go to Jerusalem. 52 He sent some men ahead of Him. They went into a town in Samaria to make everything ready for Him. 53 But the people there would not welcome YAHUSHA because He was going toward Jerusalem. 54 James and John, the followers of YAHUSHA, saw this. They said, “Master, do You want us to call fire down from Heaven and destroy those people?” 55 But YAHUSHA turned and criticised them for saying this.56 Then He and His Disciples went to another town.
57 They were all traveling along the road. Someone said to YAHUSHA, “I will follow You anywhere You go.” 58 He answered, "Foxes have holes and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no where to lay His head". 59 YAHUSHA said to another man, “Follow me mate!” But the man said, “Master, let me go and bury my father first.” 60 But YAHUSHA said to him, “Let the people who are dead bury their own dead. You must go and speak about the Kingdom of Heaven.” 61 Another man said, “I will follow You, Master, but first let me go and say goodbye to my family.” 62 YAHUSHA said, “Anyone who begins to plow a field but looks back is not prepared for the Kingdom of Heaven.”
