You people in Galatia are so foolish! Why do I say this? Because I told you very clearly about the death of YAHUSHA MESSIAH on the Torture Stake. But now it seems as though you have let someone use their magical powers to make you forget. Tell me this one thing: How did you receive the Spirit? Did you receive the Spirit by following the old Torah Law? No, of course not! You received the Spirit because you heard the message about YAHUSHA and believed it. You began your life in Messiah with the Spirit. Now, do you try to complete it by your own power? That is just stupid! You have experienced many things. Were all those experiences wasted? I hope they were not wasted! Does Alahim give you the Spirit because you follow the Torah Law? Does YAHUSHA work miracles among you because you follow the old Torah Law? No, YAHUSHA gives you His Spirit and works miracles among you because you heard the message about YAHUSHA and believed it.

The Scriptures say the same thing about Abraham. “Abraham believed Alahim, and because of this trusting-belief, he was accepted as one who is right with Alahim.” So you should know that the true children of Abraham are those who have trusting-belief. The Scriptures told what would happen in the future. These writings said that Alahim would make the people in the Gentile Nations right through their trusting-belief. Alahim told this Good News to Abraham before it even happened. He said to Abraham, “I will use you to bless all the people on earth.” Abraham believed this, and because he believed, he was blessed. All people who believe are blessed the same as Abraham was.

But people who depend on following the old Torah Law to make them right are under a curse. As the Scriptures say, “They must do everything that is written in the Torah Law. If they do not always obey, they are under a curse.” 11 So it is clear that no one can be made right with Alahim by the Torah Law. The Scriptures say, “The one who is right with Alahim by trusting-belief will live forever.”

For the Torah Law does not depend on trusting-belief. No, it says that the only way a person will find life by the Torah Law is to obey its commands. 13 The Torah Law says we are under a curse for not always obeying it. But YAHUSHA took away that curse. He changed places with us and put Himself under that curse. The Scriptures say, “Anyone who is hung on a tree is under a curse.” 14 Because of what YAHUSHA MESSIAH did, the blessing Alahim promised to Abraham was given to all people. Messiah died so that by believing in Him we could have the Spirit that Alahim promised all those years ago.

Brothers and sisters, let me give you an example from everyday life: Think about a Covenant (agreement) that one person makes with another. After that Covenant is made official, no one can stop it or add anything to it, and no one can ignore it. 16 Alahim made promises to Abraham and his SEED! The Scripture does not say, “and to your seeds.” For that would mean many people. But it says, “and to your SEED.” That means only one, and that one is Messiah. 17 This is what I mean: The Covenant that Alahim gave to Abraham was made official long before the Torah Law even came (430 years later). So the Torah Law could not take away the Covenant and change Alahim’s promise.

Can following the Torah Law give us the blessing Alahim promised? If we could receive it by following the Torah Law, then it would not be Alahim’s promise that brings it to us. But Alahim freely gave His blessings to Abraham through the promise Alahim made. 19 So what was the Torah Law for then? It was given to show just how wrong people are. The Torah Law would continue until the SEED of Abraham came. This is the One mentioned in the promise, which came directly from Alahim. But the Torah Law was given through angels, and the angels used Moses as a mediator to give the Torah Law to the people. 20 But when Alahim gave the promise, there was no mediator, because a mediator is not needed when there is only one side, and Alahim is one.

Does this mean that the Torah Law works against Alahim’s promises? Of course not. The Torah Law was never Alahim’s way of giving new life to people. If it were, then we could just be made right with Alahim by following the Torah Law. 22 But this is not possible. The Scriptures put the whole world in prison under the control of sin, so that the only way for people to get what Alahim promised would be through trusting-belief in YAHUSHA Messiah. It is given to those who believe in Him.

Before this belief came, the old Torah Law held us as prisoners. We had no freedom until Alahim showed us the way of trusting-belief that was coming. 24 I mean, the Torah Law was the guardian in charge of us until Messiah came. After He came, we could be made right with Alahim through belief. 25 Now that the way of trusting-belief has come, we no longer need the old Torah Law to be our guardian.

-27 You were all baptised into YAHUSHA MESSIAH, and so you were all clothed with Him. This shows that you are all children of Alahim through trusting-belief in MESSIAH YAHUSHA. 28 For, in YAHUSHA, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Greek, a slave or free, male or female. You are all the same in MESSIAH YAHUSHA. 29 You belong to Him, so you are Abraham’s SEED. You get all of Alahim’s blessings because of the promise that Alahim made to Abraham.
